  • Jim Newsom: Sowing & Reaping
    an Audio Message - Listen

I don't know how many times I've heard messages on TV or radio where the "Sowing and Reaping Message" has been co-opted into a mere fund raising attempt.  It's refreshing to get this biblical doctrine powerfully shared in a more general context.   Jim Newson is a man I know and highly respect and is a very fun and gifted speaker.   I think this message has special significance to the ex-offender community, but really isn't that all of us? • Discovering America's Hallowed Ground
    an interview with Jeff Shaara

With Ken Burns series on PBS titled The War, I'm sure there is a renewed interest in historic battlefields.   This is an interesting interview with Author Jeff Shaara on Civil War Battlefields and the significance of hallowed ground and the sacrifice of soldiers.   - Father Dalton

  • Peter Kreeft - Pro-Life Philosophy

The subject of abortion in the United States is an emotionally charged one, and most often fought on the level of  platitudes and placards.  Whether pro-abortion or anti-abortion, I think we would all do well to get beyond the bumper stickers and the insulting signs, and enter into reasonable discussion regarding this personal, public and political issue.
Peter Kreeft does a good job of presenting a pro-life / anti-abortion philosophy with a very reasoned and thought out approach.  As a young voter (1972) I remember voting in a Michigan referendum  regarding the legalization of abortion, although Michigan citizens voted against its legalization, the Supreme Court (1973) a few months later, legalized abortion nationwide apart from wide public discourse or political consensus.  In this talk, he will discuss the ethical issues aside from religious considerations.
I think listening to this presentation would be time well spent.
