"Our youth's image is being sabotaged and taken from them," an impassioned Barbara Grier tells a group of Christian leaders in Detroit. A serious topic deserves serious consideration, and what could be more serious than the loss of a young person's identity, the loss of their sense of purpose and a confusion of their own destiny? According to Grier and the approach of "Destiny's Image," the stakes of sexuality are really that high. We must raise the standard to instill in young people the uncomromised vision of their own dignified purpose on this earth. Until people know who they, until they know they are a treasure (and a treasure is something you guard), they will not treat themselves as such, and the weight of promiscuity and illegitimacy will remain.

Young people and adults alike need a plan. No plan is a plan to fail. The 12-session course of Destiny's Image is designed to guide children to reach their destiny. There is also a parenet workshop that is offered and a follow-up meeting.

Little did I know how exciting the topic of abstinence could be! As a society we have become so accustomed to messages that glorify impure behaviors that I am convinced we are hardly prepared to hear the truth in such unearthing terms! But spoken with clarity and conviction, what power the truth does carry! This is the real thing, spoken with love and sincerity; and the real thing is more powerful than the counterfeit.
